Air Travel to Churdhar
The nearest airport is Shimla Airport (Jubbarhatti), located approximately 95 km from the base camps. For better connectivity, travelers often use Chandigarh International Airport (180 km away), which offers frequent flights from major Indian cities like Delhi and Mumbai. From the airport, you can hire a private taxi or take a HRTC bus to reach the trekking starting points at Chopal or Nohradhar.
Land Travel to Churdhar
Churdhar is well-connected by road. The nearest major bus stand is Chopal, which serves as a primary gateway. Regular bus services run from Shimla, Solan, and Dehradun. If you are driving from Delhi, the route via Solan and Rajgarh is highly scenic. Most trekkers prefer reaching Nohradhar or Sarahan by road before beginning their uphill journey to the summit.
Train Travel to Churdhar
The nearest railway station is the Shimla Railway Station, a UNESCO World Heritage site connected via the narrow-gauge Kalka-Shimla toy train. For broad-gauge connectivity, Kalka Railway Station (approx. 130 km away) is the most convenient option. From Kalka, you can board a bus or book a cab to reach the Churdhar base camps within 5 to 6 hours.
