Chamba
Chamba is an ancient town and one of the twelve districts of Himachal Pradesh,
located in the northern region of India. It is a lowly populated and least polluted
town situated at an altitude of 996 meters above sea level on the banks of the River Ravi.
With its green surroundings, serene riverbanks, and historic temples, Chamba is an ideal
destination for peaceful vacations.
Chamba was earlier known as Bhim Kot until the time of the Mahabharata. In 920 AD,
Raja Sahil Varman shifted his capital here at the request of his daughter Champawati
and renamed the place Chamba after her.

Lakshmi Narayan Temple
The most prominent tourist attraction in Chamba, consisting of six temples—
three dedicated to Lord Vishnu and three to Lord Shiva.
Chamunda Devi Temple
Dedicated to Goddess Chamunda, this temple is located on a hilltop and offers
a panoramic view of the Chamba valley.
Rang Mahal Palace
Built in the 18th century by Raja Umed Singh, this palace showcases a blend
of British and Mughal architecture. Visitors need prior permission to enter.
Sui Mata Temple
