Kaza is 224 km from Manali, 197 km from Keylong and 425 km from Shimla. Kaza (3800 m) is a Sub Divisional Headquarter of Spiti Valley. It is situated at the foot of the stepped ridges, on the left bank of Spiti River. Long ago Kaza served as the headquarters for King Nono. Reminisces of which can be seen in the Kyu-ling (Skyid-gling) palace situated on the other side of the bank.
