At an elevation of 3000 to 4600 meters, Spiti Valley offers an incredible and distinct environment but it is also frigid and deserted.

Kalka Station is the closest major train station. From Kalka and Shimla, you can also go via mountain railway.

The closest airport to Spiti Valley is Kullu-Manali Airport, which is roughly 240 kilometers away and situated in Bhuntar.

When driving in Spiti Valley, we advise bringing a vehicle with considerable ground clearance. Also, steer clear of tiny vehicles if you choose the Manali road.

Day 1 Chandigarh to Shimla

Arrive at Chandigarh station or airport to Shimla. Pick up from Chandigarh railway station or airport and drive to Shimla. On arrival check-in hotel. Rest of the day free and explore The mall of Shimla. Overnight at a hotel in Shimla.

Day 2 Shimla local Sightseeing

Morning after breakfast visit the Jakho temple, Christ Church, The Ridge, and The Mall. Afternoon free for individual activity. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3 Shimla to Narkanda

Morning after breakfast drive from Shimla Sarahan en route visiting Sun temple at Nirath and Rampur. On arrival check in at the hotel. Evening visit Bhimakali temple which is one of the 51 shaktipeeths of the Hindu religion. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4 Narkanda to Sangla

After breakfast drive to Sangla valley. On arrival check-in camp. Visit remote villages of Rackham and Chitkul villages. Overnight at camp.

Day 5 Narkanda to Kalpa

Morning visit Kamru village and fort. Later continue drive to Kalpa located in the backdrop of the Kinner Kailash mountain range. On arrival check in at the hotel. Evening free to explore Kalpa village. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 kalpa to Tabo

The morning after breakfast drive to the Tabo enroute visiting Nako village beautifully located on the banks of a small lake. On arrival in Tabo check in and overnight at the hotel.

Day 7 Tabo to Kaza

Morning visit Tabo monastery. Later drive to Kaza enroute visiting Lalung and Dhankar Gompa. On arrival in Kaza check in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 8 kaza to Chandratal Lake

Morning visit to the Ki monastery, 12 km from Kaza. This centuries-old gompa is a labyrinth of rooms and corridors – and at one time also acted as a fort. It houses valuable Thangkas and offers a panoramic view of the area. Also visit the small gompa at Kibber, 9 km further ahead. Kibber at 4205 m has the distinction of being the highest permanently inhabited village in the region. Overnight at guest house.

Day 9 Chandratal Lake to Manali

Early morning check out the hotel and drive to Manali enroute crossing Losar village and also crossing two passes Kunzum & Rohtang Pass. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel. Morning half-day tour visiting Hadimba Devi Temple, Manu Temple, and Vashisht. Afternoon half-day tour visiting Naggar Castle, Roerich Art Gallery (closed on Mondays), and some other old temples in Naggar village. Evening free to explore Manali market. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10 Manali local Sightseeing
